About Me
- Name: Pam @ The Blue Between
- Location: Near Seattle, Washington, United States
Melting glass and playing with fire - that's my happy place. When I don't have the time to do that, I make other stuff: jewelry, paintings, gardens, photographs of my dog and kid and cat and flowers and trees and birds… stuff... Every year is a new adventure… this year’s challenge is homeschooling and trying to find some balance with that and life and art. Plus chickens, backyard chickens. My hands are full. I dream of the beach... sand... flip-flops... sunshine, and sometimes orcas.

i had moldy roses too. i had one huge one that flowered once a season. i cut it all the way back last year after flowering. this year it looks great so far. no powdery mildew. i think that part of the problem comes from them being on a trellis with little air circulation. it was painful to cut the rose back so much, but in the end it looks much better.
thanks, I wasn't sure if that was possible since it's so old - we want to paint the house, but I have been thinking that meant killing the roses (which are dying anyway.) Last year I fertilized and sprayed and they did a little better for a little while. This year I'm going to try cornmeal on the ground and spraying with fat-free milk/water mix. Who knows. If that doesn't work, I'll cut them back, paint the house, and hope they grow back!
Are those yellow azaleas in that last shot? What a lovely color!
