Shaping Up
Have been spending a ton of energy in the yard - spring is springing up and I'm taking advantage of the little bit of sun and dry weather to get some things done. I moved a rock border and bagged some yard waste and then did something I'd been wanting to do but had been to chicken to try... I trimmed up my camelia bush and turned it into a tree. I imagine there are those who would think what I just did was criminal, but I really like it - it opens up the space, mirrors the old rhody that has been trimmed up to a tree shape and lets me think about planting some boarder plants along the fence. I'm happy and really, that is ALL that matters.

My first view of your blog - I like it!
I also like what you did with the camelia and I think I will that with mine, once I enjoy the blossoms on the bottom branches! It is getting too close to the ground and I can't really see the hostas, ferns and helleborus too well under it!
Pam,
I love what you have done; it looks much more tidy and gives it a nice shape. I have done the same with a few bushes in the front of my house, including 2 Rose of Sharons - they now look like small trees and I can plant something underneath them. I think it also promotes more air circulation and less mold. In the Northwest with all the wet, that is a good thing.
