The Plumbers Hat

That's the hat Frank is wearing today. Not much of hat to look at, but better than those plumber pants. Huh. Anyway... Frank is quite proud of himself. I'm right there with him. Now I think it's time to put on the electrical hat. And then the sheet rocker hat, and then I get to put on the floor tiler hat. Whoo hoo. Have I said how beautiful my floor tiles are? I'll show a picture soon.

Here is the plumbing for the sink:

Here is the toilet plumbing:

Here is the pex piping to the sink from below - more piping to go to the master bath:

Here is the mess o' drains below:

And the last shot of the day - the drain and vent pipes. The vent goes into the attic - and yes, there's a cap on it for now - it will go out the roof another day.

I see that you used pex for the supply above the floor, but copper below. Any reason?

Not trying to bust on your work, but I am trying to understand where and when some folks are using pex vs copper.

errr... the copper was from when we first moved into the house - we were going to do the whole house in copper - that goes to the washing machine - though I can see how it looks like it goes to the new powder room. Should have taken a picture of the new pex, hu? Anyway, after we put those pipes in, copper prices skyrocketed and so we decided to do the rest of the house in pex. I'm not sure if he's planning on replacing the copper lines or not - I told him to leave them - they are new and all, why switch them out just so they all match?

Good DIY job, Pam and Frank! When I moved in to Buford, plumbing was the last DIY project on my mind. Whenever it was time to do it, I looked for other tasks to accomplish. When it was the only job left, I still didn't want to do it, so I just called professional plumbers to inspect and do even the simplest repairs. Well, even though I live now here in Tucker, plumbing is still at the back of my mind. It's just really not my thing, I guess. Thank God for the real plumbers here in Georgia!
